The Pouch-Purse

October 4th, 2006

finished-pouch-purse1.jpgThe pouch-purse is complete! I finally got up the motivation to sit down and hand sew the lining to the inside of the piece. It really didn’t take me that long, but I don’t enjoy sewing quite as much as I enjoy knitting. I’m very glad I did take the time to do so, because it lends a nice finished look to it.

finished-pouch-purse3.jpgI went into the bathroom to try it on and look at it in the mirror, and it worked perfectly! The adjustable strap works just as I wanted it to, and I can easily wear it around my hips or over my shoulder. I’m slightly disappointed that I couldn’t find a way to tie the straps together in an adjustable way, and avoid having the ends show. However, I don’t think it looks too bad on the purse; it adds to the handmade look.

This will be great to wear with a skirt if me and Corey decide to go out to eat one night. Just enough to carry my wallet, and a few small items.

finished-pouch-purse2.jpgAs requested by Michelle, fellow LibriVixen, I’m working on creating a pattern for this. This is probably a good idea, because I may decide to make another one in the not-so-near future. There’s no way I’ll remember exactly what I did.
