I’m still here! Been without internet for almost two months now, but everything’s back up and running. I’m still knitting..boy do I need to get back into the swing of things.

Instant Spindle!
Thursday, August 28th, 2008I wouldn’t normally be posting tonight, but at 5 minutes until bed time I feel the need to share something I find exciting. I always love making things, especially useful things that I can make easily. This is the epitome of easy craft, although I didn’t really make anything. I just put them together. I cannot [...]
Cabled Socks
Sunday, August 24th, 2008So I don’t have a lot to show for this week, because I’ve only been working one one project… I’m on the home stretch now that I’m just finishing the cuff. I am a bit tired of this sock, but it’s very simple. I just need to keep plugging along so I can get it finished. [...]
Yarn Fun
Tuesday, August 19th, 2008So I’ve got some handspun and commercially spun stuff to write about today. I’ll start with the handspun… First up, the ply-as-you-go yarn. This is the navajo plied yarn I wrote about where I’m spinning up a length then plying it before winding on. It’s a really cool technique, and if you’re a spinner I urge [...]
Christmas
Sunday, August 17th, 2008It’s finally time to get started on the Christmas knitting. I bought this huge ball of Lily Sugar ‘n Cream cotton in a light mauve a while back, and decided it would be perfect for making a kitchen set of sorts. This will be my sister since she’s living on her own now, and I [...]
Cashmere: done!
Wednesday, August 6th, 2008I finally plied this cashmere I’ve been spinning for all this time. It’s a bit underplied for my tastes, but I think it’s mostly balanced. I didn’t think it possible I could have put more twist in the singles! I really wish my camera would do justice to the natural color in this yarn.
Knitting with Injuries
Sunday, August 3rd, 2008I thought I would be incapacitated from knitting for a week, but was only kept from it for a day or two. Since I can comfortably type now, I’ve got some stuff I want to show you. First, a little swatch… I’m going to knit Corey the Cobblestone Pullover by Jared Flood. It’s such a classic [...]
Happy Birthday Mom!
Sunday, July 27th, 2008Before I head off and give this away, I feel I should post some pictures of the finished shawl for my mom. Click on the images to see larger sizes, ’cause you can see the lace much better enlarged. Oh, and ignore the model, not one of my best photos of me I love [...]
Dissecting a Pattern - Sage Cardigan
Sunday, July 20th, 2008So I’m very nearly finished with my mom’s birthday shawl, and I’ve completed all my deadline knitting for the store. This has gotten me to thinking about the Sage Cardigan pattern that I bought a few months ago. I’ve been itching to start this sweater, and even have the yarn and swatch all ready to [...]
Someone Else’s Deadline
Sunday, July 13th, 2008For those of you that knit for gift giving, you know the minor stress of that deadline. I know a lot of gift giving knitters create a list of gifts they want to knit for Christmas, often find they’ve overestimated what they can do, stress close to Christmas, and probably get less done because of [...]
