What an amazing pattern, with some amazing yarn! It was incredibly easy to get into a repetitive memorization of the pattern, and I found myself looking forward to every dropped stitch. There was enough simplicity in this pattern to prevent me from needing the pattern often, but the dropped stitches drew me forward and prevented it from being boring.
After knitting this I found the construction realy simple, and could probably construct a different pattern using the same method. I will likely knit more in the future, because the pattern is so versatile and can be used in many ways (shawl, lap blanket, scarf, etc). My only disappointment is that this was a gift for my mother-in-law. I hope she likes it!
What Have I Learned?
Blocking will be so much easier when I get blocking wires. The little curves that using a ton of pins creates doesn’t look as nice as a straight blocked edge will. Plus it will be so much quicker.
