Fuzzy Green Cowl

When I bought the wool for my first project, I couldn’t resist buying a sort of novelty yarn. I decided that I would just buy it to use later when I was inspired with an idea of what to do with it. As soon as I had it home though, I had to decide what I was going to do with it. I couldn’t just let this yarn sit there, and I was so excited about knitting anything I could.
I was looking through one of the knitting books that I borrowed from the library, and found this very simple cool looking hat. I decided that it would look great in this yarn I had bought, so I immediately began the project. It didn’t matter that I already had a scarf started, I just wanted to knit.
However, since I didn’t do the pattern correctly (knit circular instead of flat, it said I could use circulars!) I realized that I couldn’t make the hat in the pattern. As I continued to knit though, this green fuzzy thing began looking more and more like a neck warmer. It’s soft, green, and warm. Now I hav a cool looking green neck cowl of sorts, that I can use for a scarf!
What have I learned?
Knitting on circular needles doesn’t always mean knitting in the round. Also, make sure to read through the whole of a pattern before you start it. The only way I found out that I was doing it wrong was that I read ahead a bit and realized where I went wrong. Duh!
