Striped Ankle Socks
Progress

I loved knitting with this yarn, loved the colors, and love wearing the socks. I can forgive the 25% nylon content in this wool yarn, because it really seems to make a great yarn. I used a bit of a new technique for these socks in the toes as well. I converted a short row toe for toe-up socks to use with these ankle-down socks. It worked great, and will probably become my new method to do toes.
What Have I Learned
I like short wide toes, as they leave plenty of room for my toes. The short row toe seems to be the best way to do this, making sure to only do about 1/3 unworked stitches.
I finished the second sock well after the first, so I had forgotten the numbers I used for the toe. I think that for each pair of socks I should start an index card with each of the numbers and measurements, so that when I start the second one I don’t have to guess, or count stitches.
